Hurricane Releif (FROM THE LISTSERV) - 2005/09/09 15:50 Dear Fraters

Hello, I am an active member of the Mu Zeta
chapter at Nicholls State in Lousiana. I am just
curious if everyone was aware of the three chapters
affected by the storm. Over three quarters of my
chapters members were affected by this storm by there
parents and families losing everything. I am positive
the same goes for the chapters at southeastern
lousiana university, and University of New Orleans. I
am wondering why a fraternity that is the biggest and
the best with over 270 chapters. Has only raised a
total of 2,300 dollars to help your brpthers in need.
I am not insulting anyone on porpose, all I ask is
that all of us come together to help out. Whoever went
to conclave knows how nice New Orleans was and know is
our time to step up and show are colors.

Hurricane Releif (FROM THE LISTSERV) - 2005/09/09 15:51 Dear Fraters:

A reminder that the collegiate and alumni members of the Lambda-Upsilon Chapter at Georgia Southern University, in cooperation with the International Fraternity, have established a TKE Hurricane Relief Fund to assist the TKE chapters impacted by Hurricane Katrina. To date, we've raised nearly $1,500.00, but we can do more.

While our Fraters in the area are assessing damage and putting their lives back together, we'd like to ask for your help, so we can help them. While the current focus is on rescue and relief, the residents of the area will soon shift their attention to recovery and rebuilding.

We'd like to share a note we received from Frater Michael Stevens, the Epiprytanis at our Theta-Mu Chapter, University of New Orleans:

"On behalf of the Theta-Mu Chapter at University of New Orleans, and the other chapters that were impacted by Hurricane Katrina, I would like to say thank you for what you and the rest of our brothers from Lambda-Upsilon Chapter are doing for us. With so many of out fraters having lost everything, it is good to know that other brothers, ones that we have never met, are living up to the Bond and helping all of us. From what I have been able to learn, all of our brothers are O.K., that I know of, but communication is so hard right now there are several that have not been heard from. We were in the middle of an amazing rush semester -- so when things get back to normal, you can be sure that TKE will, once again, be the biggest and best fraternity on campus -- like it has always been! Once again, thank you for all that you are doing and continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers."

Donations to the TKE Hurricane Relief Fund will help off-set expenses that these chapters incur in their attempts to rebuild, thus allowing individual members of the affected chapters to focus their attention and finances on covering necessary personal expenses during the recovery. Funds contributed will be applied, based on need, to TKE chapters in the area -- and as determined by a task force appointed by the Grand Prytanis, with input from the Chief Executive Officer of the Fraternity and his staff.

We think it's important for the Fraters of TKE to step-up and provide fraternal assistance to help avoid a situation which could result in the loss of one, or several, of our chapters in the area. 100% of all funds contributed will be directed to the Offices of the Grand Chapter and used to help chapters in the impacted area, minus any merchant fees assessed for payment processing. Funds can be donated using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or PayPal account. The Lambda-Upsilon Chapter of TKE at Georgia Southern University will not benefit financially, in any way, as a result of this fund raising effort.
To make a secure contribution to the TKE Hurricane Relief Fund, simply click on this link:

If you wish to mail a check via the U.S. Postal Service, make your check payable to "Lambda-Upsilon Chapter of TKE," make a note on your check that the contribution is designated for the TKE Hurricane Relief Fund, and mail to:

Frater Frank Sanders
3295 Hidden Acres Drive
Atlanta, GA 30340-4443

Of course, it's also important that we support the current rescue and relief efforts. In addition to supporting our TKE chapters in the area, we also encourage you to consider making a contribution to the relief agency of your choice -- or, if you can, offering your time as a volunteer. A list of organizations providing support to the relief effort can be found by clicking here:

Thank you for your support -- and for your continued commitment to The Fraternity for Life.

Yours in the Bond,

The Collegiate and Alumni Members
Lambda-Upsilon Chapter of TKE
Georgia Southern University
Statesboro, Georgia

Cheers,
